Nicole St-Pierre

While she is well known for her female nudes, circus artists, musicians and vivid still lifes, her allegorical animals are presently making their way onto a growing number of canvases. Her palette, rich and colorful, favors primary and secondary colors, punctuated with blacks and whites.

BIOGRAPHY

Nicole St-Pierre was born in Montreal in 1953. A self-taught artist, she has been painting for more than 27 years. St-Pierre has a long list of shows to her credit, held in a variety of places, including Montreal, Magog, Sherbrooke, Granby, Laval, Outremont and Ottawa in Canada, as well as Florida and Massachusetts in the United States. Over the years, she has received a number of honors: in 1997, she was awarded a commission to create a fresco in a historic building in Tempe, Arizona; in 2002, she was selected to represent Canada in a special exhibition presented in Framingham, in the Boston area.

Today, her work is displayed in Montréal, North Hatley, Baie-Saint-Paul and Boston. St-Pierre draws her inspiration from her everyday life; from the people, plants, animals and objects around her. Her various means of texturing add visual interest and depth to her work. Nicole St-Pierre’s paintings are part of private collections throughout the world.
