ARTIST STATEMENT

Art has always been my passion, an outlet for expression through a stormy sky or a peaceful seascape, a way to release energy, escape and unwind.
Born and raised in Australia, I spent time living in the United Kingdom and the U.S.A. and currently reside in Oakville, Ontario with my family. My paintings draw upon my memories and inspiration - seascapes, wheat fields and rural landscapes from places I have lived and visited that hold treasured memories of happy times.
Drawn to changing skies and landscapes that present opportunities to use texture and movement, I paint with feeling and emotion in the quest to create atmosphere or capture a memory through my art. Painting predominantly in oils, I constantly introduce other media to pursue new techniques and finishes.
